NASK has expanded its corporate network offering by an Ethernet VPN service realized based on the NASK Gigabit Ethernet extruded from the resources of the Warsaw metropolitan network.
15 years have passed from the moment of the first communications using the IP protocol in Poland: on 17th August, 1991, Rafa³ Pietrak, a Warsaw University physicist, contacted Jan Sorensen of the Copenhagen University using IP. That moment is regarded as the symbolic birth date of the Internet in Poland.

Warsaw, 6 July 2006: ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) - an entity co-ordinating Internet operations - and NASK reached an agreement on the application of NASK-developed software for automated management of TLDs (Top-Level Domains) - “IANA database”.
