The General Assembly of the CENTR will take place in Warsaw
The Annual General Assembly of the CENTR will take place in Warsaw on 25 – 26 February. CENTR is an organisation associating national registries of Internet domains (so-called country code Top-Level Domain Registries). The meeting in Warsaw will be hosted by NASK, which operates national registry of .PL domains.
Think B4 U post! 9 February – Safer Internet Day 2010
On 9 February 2010 whole Europe will celebrate Safer Internet Day (SID). In Poland, it will be organised by the Nobody's Children Foundation (NCF) and the Research and Academic Computer Network (NASK), forming the Polish Centre of the Programme “Safer Internet”. Local initiatives in the area of the online safety of the youngest net surfers will be organised all over the country. A campaign dedicated to the protection of the privacy in the Internet – „Think B4 U post!” – is going to be launched in all member states of the European Union.
NASK wireless access network – new stations deployed south of Poland
With the new NASK wireless access stations deployed in Zabrze, Rybnik and Łaziska Górne, the wireless Internet access service can be provided to companies with offices in Zabrze, Bytom, Chorzów, Ruda ¦l±ska, Gliwice, Tychy, Rybnik and neighbouring towns. Together with the existing station in Katowice, NASK has covered the Silesian Agglomeration from west to east.
NASK has commissioned another broadband wireless Internet access base station. The new station is located in Radom. With the station coverage radius of about 30 km the service can be provided to companies with offices in Radom and neighbouring towns.
