NASK has published a report which summarizes the situation in the market of Polish Internet domains in Poland in 2009.
Last year ended with 1.63m registered .PL domains, a 25% growth compared to the end of 2008. In 2009, NASK recorded a growth in new domains, by more than 2,600 a day on average, which means one domain registered in Poland every 30 seconds.
In Q4 2009 the subscribers registered 241,031 .PL domain names, a growth in the registration rate by 7.6% compared to Q3 2009. This is the highest number of registrations ever recorded in the history of the NASK register. The number of .PL domains registered in the months of Q4 2009 was as follows: October – 81,921, November – 82,275, December – 76,835.
In 2009 Poland strengthened its fifth position in the ranking of EU Member States in terms of the number of domains held in the register, before France, Spain, Denmark, Belgium and Sweden. The ranking of EU registers at the end of December 2009 was as follows:

In 2009 the pre-paid system was launched for NASK Partners offering registration and domain hosting services. The pre-paid system facilitates participation in the NASK Partner Programme, allows to reduce contractual penalties between NASK and the Partners, ensures higher security and stability of the domain registration system, and ensures easy implementation of new services.
With the pre-paid offer launched, the number of inquiries regarding participation in the Partner Programme raised rapidly. In Q4 2009, NASK signed co-operation agreements with nine new entities. At present, 117 companies participate in the Partner Programme, 65 established in Poland, 37 established in other European countries, and 15 established in other parts of the world.
The report provides some interesting information on the participation of the NASK Partners in the Internet domain market. In Q4 2009 half of .PL domains were handled by two leaders, Home.pl (25.81% of the market share) and NetArt (24.80% of the market share). Other ranked Partners include AZ.pl, with the share raised to 9.76% and Consulting Service with 7.96% of the market share. Michau Enterprises ranked fifth (4.93% of the market share).

Quarterly and annual reports published by NASK provide information on the development of the whole market and individual services compared to past periods. In addition to collective data which describe the whole market, NASK publishes a ranking of ten largest domain registrars in Poland. The analyses take into consideration aspects such as per cent share in the market, growth rate and sale rate for domain services.
