Professor Adam Jatowt is a Professor of Computer Science, Head of the Data Science Group, and Deputy Director of both the Digital Science Center and the Research Center Digital Humanities at the University of Innsbruck.
He earned his PhD from the University of Tokyo and spent 14 years as a faculty member at Kyoto University. He has also held research appointments at the University of California, Berkeley, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, the University of La Rochelle, the University of Toulouse, and the University of Porto.
His research focuses on natural language processing, information retrieval, large language models, and the analysis of information evolution and temporal dynamics. He is a recipient of the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and has authored numerous papers recognised at leading international computer science conferences.
Professor Jatowt also serves in various editorial and organisational roles within the international research community, including as Associate Editor of ACM Transactions on Information Systems.
