This paper is devoted to template ageing in automatic signature verification system. The main part is dedicated to differences between genders in signature and its influence on template ageing in signature verification system. The experiments presented in the article, were obtained for databases that contain signature realizations captured in three sessions, where the last session was captured 7 years after the first one. The results presented in the article show a potential risk of using an automatic verification system without using methods that deal with the ageing problems.
