Russian Voice in the Chinese Information Space: The Case of Poland
Is the Russian voice being heard in China’s information space? The report examines the scale of information cooperation between China and Russia and analyses how propaganda and disinformation shape narratives about Poland.
The aim of this report is to map, analyse and showcase the extent of the cooperation between the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the Russian Federation in the field of information exchange on the example of Poland-related narratives in the Chinese infosphere (often referred to, in a broader sense, as “the Sinosphere”). The emphasis was put on dissemination of content that can be categorised as propaganda and disinformation. This, in turn, will help answer the main question of this study: is there a “Russian Voice” in the Chinese information space, and if so, what is the purpose of such content being circulated in an infosphere tightly controlled by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) organs? To provide a comprehensive answer to the matter in question, an analysis on a substantial, ideological, and intentional level is order, and this will therefore dictate the structure of the research.
